No complicated routine. No perfection required. Just ten honest minutes that belong entirely to you.
Each element of the practice has a specific purpose — rooted in how your nervous system, hormones, and spirit actually work together.
Before anything else — before your phone, before the day takes over — you sit. Feet on the floor, hands open, eyes closed. Three slow, intentional breaths. This single act shifts your nervous system from reactive to receptive. You are telling your body: we are safe, and this day begins with me.
Inhale 4 · Hold 2 · Exhale 6 · Repeat three times. This is your moment to open your heart to something greater — God, the Universe, Spirit, Source, Love. Whatever name you use, whatever form your faith takes. The guide includes a written opening prayer you can use as-is, or simply speak whatever is honest on your heart that morning. There is no wrong way to begin here.
"Thank you for this morning. Help me see the good. Help me be the good."Write or speak three things you're grateful for — but make them specific. Not just "my health" but one thing your body did yesterday that deserves thanks. Not just "my family" but why they matter today. Specificity is where the neuroscience becomes real: your brain can't distinguish between remembering a good thing and re-experiencing it.
The guide includes weekly themes to keep this fresh across all seven days.Place one hand on your heart and ask: what does my body need most today? Then choose one small, loving act you will give it — drink water first, move gently, rest without guilt, eat mindfully. This step heals the adversarial relationship many women in midlife develop with their bodies. You begin to treat yourself as someone worth caring for.
You speak your affirmation aloud — not in your head, out loud. Hearing your own voice say something true about yourself changes how your nervous system receives it. Then you choose one word to carry into the day. Peace. Courage. Open. Present. Enough. That word becomes your anchor when the day gets loud.
"I am well. I am worthy. I am grateful for this day, and I am enough.""Thank you for this morning. For breath, for life, for another chance to show up. I release what is behind me and open myself to what is ahead. Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Help me see the good. Help me be the good. I am grateful to be here."
Use this prayer as written, or let it be the starting point for your own. Both are perfectly right.
The guide includes seven unique gratitude themes — one for each day — so your practice never grows stale and your reflections always go somewhere new.
